BLARE Media, a production company based in Fresno, will host the premiere of its new film “An American Abroad” at the Crest Theatre in Downtown Fresno on October 3. The event aims to highlight both the film and the local filmmaking community.

The movie is described as a romantic comedy mockumentary and was co-created by brothers Justin and Ian McAleece. Both have been active supporters of developing a sustainable film industry in California’s Central Valley. They are also the owners of BLARE Media.

“This premiere is more than just about the film,” said Justin McAleece. “It’s about celebrating Fresno’s thriving filmmaking community and showing the world that incredible stories can be created right here in our backyard.”

Founded in Fresno, BLARE Media has grown into a video production company with clients that include both local businesses and national brands. The company produces commercials, branded content, and feature films, providing opportunities for filmmakers, editors, and crew members from the region to gain experience without having to leave the Central Valley.

“An American Abroad” was written, directed, and produced by Marcia Kimpton. Kimpton has previously worked as a filmmaker in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The PG-13-rated film follows a travel host and her conservative boyfriend as they journey through Europe, Africa, and other locations.
