Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer is participating in the inaugural C13 summit, joining 13 other mayors from across California. The summit, organized by the Big City Mayor Coalition, is taking place in San Francisco and focuses on addressing homelessness, housing, and economic development in the state.
The Big City Mayor Coalition is a bipartisan group that represents over 11 million residents in California. The mayors attending the summit include Patricia Lock Dawson of Riverside, who serves as chair of the coalition, as well as Karen Bass of Los Angeles, Todd Gloria of San Diego, Daniel Lurie of San Francisco, Matt Mahan of San Jose, Kevin McCarty of Sacramento, Rex Richardson of Long Beach, Barbare Lee of Oakland, and Larry Agran of Irvine.
According to the news release, the coalition aims to create a shared vision that will act as a roadmap for working with Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Legislature. The goal is to take decisive action on some of the state’s most urgent issues.
“The coalition is calling for bold, result-driven solutions to meet the pressing needs of their communities,” the release stated.
The mayors hope that their collaboration will lead to effective policies and initiatives that address the challenges facing California’s largest cities.
