California schedules diverse festivals statewide for summer travel season

California will host a variety of events throughout June 2025, offering residents and visitors opportunities to experience the state’s culture, food, music, and outdoor activities.

The month features California State Parks Week from June 11–15, with special programs across the state. Early summer harvests can be seen in places like Yolo County’s sunflower fields and along Fresno County’s Fruit Trail. Pride Month celebrations include parades and parties in Los Angeles (June 8), Sacramento (June 14–15), and San Francisco (June 28–29).

Film enthusiasts can attend the Mendocino Film Festival from May 29 to June 1, which will screen more than 60 films including “Neil Young: Coastal” and “No Other Land.” Monsterpalooza in Pasadena (May 30–June 1) focuses on horror film culture with exhibits and celebrity appearances. Sonoma County Pride kicks off May 30 with a parade in Santa Rosa and a large pool party at Graton Resort & Casino.

Carmel Culinary Week runs from May 30 to June 7 in Carmel-by-the-Sea, featuring specials at over thirty restaurants. The San Mateo County Fair (May 30–June 8) offers traditional fair attractions alongside themed days such as Asian Culture Day and Family Pride Day.

Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week also takes place May 30–June 8, where diners can choose from over one hundred participating restaurants; each reservation donates $1 to FIND Food Bank. West Hollywood hosts the Outloud Music Festival on May 31–June 1 with performances by Lizzo, Remi Wolf, and Paris Hilton.

Other notable events include the Downtown Burbank Arts Festival (May 31–June 1), L.A. WineFest in Long Beach (May 31–June 1), Bay Area Book Festival in Berkeley (May 31–June 1), Tustin Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off on June 1, Barnsdall Park Friday Night Wine Tastings starting June 6 in Los Angeles, American Graffiti Festival & Car Show in Modesto (June 6–8), Big Time Logging Jamboree in Chester on June 7, Watermelon Festival at Lakeview Terrace (June 7-8), Fishin’ For $50K Trout Tournament at Big Bear Lake (June 7-8), WSL Lexus Trestles Pro surfing event at San Onofre (June 9-17), National Shopping Day across various locations from June 12-15, SoulPlay Festival for adults only in Cobb during those same dates, Healdsburg Jazz Festival from June 13-22 featuring artists like Dianne Reeves and Jason Moran.

San Diego Brew Festival is set for June 14 at Liberty Station’s NTC Park; later that month is San Diego Beer Weekend hosted by the local Brewers Guild. The Lost & Found Gravel Grinder mountain bike race happens on June 14 in Portola. Sacramento’s Crawdad Festival celebrates Cajun cuisine on June 14-15.

Runners can participate in Big Blue Adventures Half Marathon & 8-Miler at Palisades Tahoe on June 14. Idyllwild Arts hosts Native American Arts Festival Week from June 16-20 with exhibitions and readings by writers such as Joy Harjo.

Solvang Music in the Park begins its Wednesday night series on June 18. Conejo Valley Days fair returns to Thousand Oaks from June 19-29 while Petaluma Fair runs from June 19-22 focusing on livestock as well as local wine makers.

Santa Cruz presents Woodies on the Wharf car show between June 19-22; Santa Barbara holds its Summer Solstice Parade & Festival between June 20-22; Old Santa Ynez Days takes place during those same dates celebrating cowboy heritage; Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival occurs concurrently with hot-air balloon launches and concerts.

Blues & Brews festival is scheduled for Pacifica on June 21 while Taste of Sonoma highlights local wines that day as well. Lavender Blue Harvest Days are held over two weekends—starting Jun 21—in Placerville’s Apple Hill area focusing on lavender-themed farm experiences.

Palm Springs International Short Fest runs Jun 24-30 screening short films eligible for Academy Awards qualification spots. Santa Rosa Country Summer country music festival is set for Jun 27-29; nearby Transcendence Theatre Company opens its Broadway season Jun 12 at Jack London State Historic Park.

Relish: A Food, Wine & Spirits Experience comes to Newport Beach Jun 27-29 featuring chefs Jamie Gwen and Tyler Florence among others affiliated with James Beard Foundation activities at VEA Newport Beach resort hotel.

On Jun 28 Folsom marks Black Miners Bar Juneteenth Festival commemorating emancipation with live music near Folsom Lake Recreation Area—beyond a park entry fee admission is free—and Truckee Dirt Fondo off-road cycling race takes place near Tahoe National Forest that day too.

Pier360 Beach Festival closes out the month Jun 28-29 combining paddleboard races with beachside entertainment along Santa Monica Pier.
