Coast Aluminum, Inc., a supplier based in Hayward, California, will begin construction on a new 163,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility in Fresno. The groundbreaking ceremony is set for November 19 at 5255 E. Home Ave., near the Fresno-Yosemite International Airport. The total investment for the project is $42 million, covering land acquisition, development, construction, and equipment.
The company currently operates at 1360 E North Ave in South Fresno. Tom Clark, founder and owner of Coast Aluminum, Inc., reflected on the significance of this expansion: “This project is especially meaningful to me,” Clark said. “We started our company in Hayward, California, in 1982, and Fresno became our very first branch in 1993. It was also the first building I ever owned and developed back in 1996 — the same one we’ll soon be moving from into this brand-new facility. This expansion represents not only growth, but a continued investment in our people, our customers, and the Fresno community that’s been part of our story from the beginning.”
Clark emphasized that the expansion shows “a continued investment in our people, our customers, and the Fresno community that’s been part of our story from the beginning.”
Adler Industrial LLC of Boise will develop the project. Michael Adler, CEO of Adler Industrial LLC stated his company is “honored to be trusted with bringing their Fresno project to life.” He noted that after developing Coast Aluminum’s Boise facility last year, this renewed partnership “reflects the strength of our relationship and our shared commitment to quality, innovation, and community investment.”
JB Steel Construction from Oregon will serve as builder for the new facility. Russ Batzer, president of JB Steel Construction said their design balances “efficiency, quality, and flexibility — everything we strive for in modern industrial design.” He also highlighted how working with local subcontractors supports workforce development.
Ethan Smith from Newmark Pearson represented the seller of the land used for this project. Smith described it as an important step forward for industrial space availability in Fresno. He explained that planning began three-and-a-half years ago with entitlement risks taken by the landowner upfront—allowing construction to start soon after closing escrow.
Smith noted that without this property site available when needed by Coast Aluminum there was potential for relocation outside city limits; securing it gives room for future growth and operational flexibility within Fresno.
He added: “I think it’s a path forward in the city to get more projects out of the ground with developers being willing to go through this process.”
Coast Aluminum has operations at sixteen locations across Western United States and Northern Mexico.
