Deerpoint Group, a company based in Madera and known for its work in crop nutrition and water treatment, has announced a new partnership with Edgewater Capital Partners. Edgewater is a private equity firm located in Cleveland, Ohio, that invests in sectors such as life sciences and specialty chemicals.
Founded by John and Deborah Miller in 1993, Deerpoint Group provides fertigation solutions, fertilizer products, and water treatment services to specialty crop producers throughout California. The company says the new partnership will help it expand its technology offerings and service capabilities.
“Deerpoint has always been dedicated to helping growers achieve healthier crops and soils, higher yields, and stronger ROI through precision nutrition and water treatment,” said Deborah Miller in a statement. “This partnership with Edgewater allows us to build on that foundation, invest in the next generation of technology, and expand the ways we support the success of specialty crop producers.”
According to Deerpoint Group, both John and Deborah Miller will remain involved with the business until the end of 2025 to help manage the transition.
Edgewater Capital Partners describes itself as a sector-focused investor with more than 25 years of experience working with performance materials and services businesses. Chris Childres, managing partner and founder at Edgewater, said: “Agriculture is the backbone of our communities, and Deerpoint has been a trusted partner to growers for decades. We are proud to support their continued innovation and commitment to helping farmers succeed.”
The collaboration aims to accelerate Deerpoint’s growth while supporting sustainable agriculture practices among Central Valley growers.
