The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced an organizational realignment aimed at enhancing its efficiency and advancing the administration’s energy agenda. The changes are intended to improve the department’s ability to carry out President Trump’s initiatives, which focus on increasing domestic energy production, promoting scientific and technological leadership, and maintaining the safety and readiness of the nation’s nuclear weapons stockpile.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright stated, “Thanks to President Trump’s leadership, the Energy Department is aligning its operations to restore commonsense to energy policy, lower costs for American families and businesses, and ensure the responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. These changes will help us better execute the DOE mission of delivering affordable, reliable and secure American energy for the American people.”

The DOE says this realignment is part of a broader effort to meet national priorities related to energy security and innovation.
