The Fresno Mission and Central California Food Bank are joining efforts for the fifth annual One Table Fresno event, which will provide hot meals and resources to families in need. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City Center campus on 2025 E. Dakota Ave.
Since its first gathering in Downtown Fresno in 2021, One Table Fresno has become a significant community event. This year, organizers plan to serve 4,500 hot steak meals and distribute 4,500 coats for children and adults.
The City Center campus serves as a hub for nonprofits and those seeking assistance in Fresno. Earlier this year, the center expanded its services by opening a 73-room housing facility aimed at helping people in crisis.
“This collaborative event represents the ongoing commitment of both the Fresno Mission and Central California Food Bank to provide resources, hope, and support for Fresno’s families,” the Fresno Mission said in a news release Monday. “Through One Table Fresno, both organizations aim to offer a gathering place that promotes unity, celebrates community, and brings together individuals from all walks of life to connect, share, and support each other.”
In addition to meals and coats, over 1,000 turkeys will be given away along with holiday bags containing non-perishable food items for attendees’ holiday meals. The event will also feature a resource fair where families can access information about mental health care, education services for foster youth, addiction recovery programs, and more.
Families attending can participate in activities such as photo opportunities with Santa Claus and other family-friendly events.
“One Table Fresno is more than a meal — it’s a moment where our entire city comes together as one family,” said Fresno Mission CEO Matt Dildine. “When people sit at the table, they feel dignity and belonging. That’s what this is all about.”
