Melanie Boone, a Fresno native and founder of Maven Integrative Aesthetics, has shifted her career from primary care as a family nurse practitioner to focus on aesthetics. Her approach emphasizes holistic health, integrating her medical background into services that go beyond standard cosmetic treatments.

Boone said the philosophy behind her practice is “bringing beauty from within,” explaining that while injectables are topical, offerings like IV therapy aim to improve well-being from the inside out. “Injectables, they’re more from topical, or outside-in,” Boone said. She added that including IV therapy and other treatments at Maven Aesthetics will “help you from inside out; look good, feel good.”

Maven Integrative Aesthetics provides a range of services including injectables, IV vitamin therapy, peptide treatments, and weight loss support using GLP1 medication. The clinic is also working toward certification for hormone therapy, which Boone believes could offer greater comfort for women seeking this type of treatment. “We think that women would feel more comfortable coming to us for their hormone replacement therapies versus a male provider,” she said. “I’m going to take my knowledge of previously practicing primary care for five years.”

The goal of these treatments is to help clients achieve beauty that goes deeper than surface appearance. Boone’s experience in medicine and her focus on whole-body health set Maven apart from other providers who may concentrate mainly on cosmetic enhancements like Botox and fillers.

“A healthy body retains beauty and appearance longer and more efficiently than an unhealthy one,” Boone said. She emphasized the importance of nutrition, exercise, and regular health checks as part of patient care alongside aesthetic treatments. “When you’re low on one vitamin or mineral you can’t produce another,” she said. “It’s like a domino effect on everything — you could be working out and running and taking medications…but if your vitamin D is at 11, you’re gonna have zero energy.”

Boone’s background includes six years in trauma ICU before advancing her education to become a nurse practitioner. She noted her preference for ongoing relationships with patients: “I knew that I definitely wanted to further my career and education,” she said. “I’m more of a people person, so I went for everyday involvement with multiple humans and deep conversations and seeing them repetitively to manage their conditions.”

Her work in two different Fresno offices exposed her to varied patient populations—insured patients in the north office and uninsured or underserved patients near Sunnyside in the south—which broadened her understanding of patient needs.

Boone’s interest in aesthetics began after being introduced to Botox by a colleague while working at the north Fresno office. “It ended up just working for me,” she said. “I like to say that I have an aesthetic eye.”

Since opening its Old Town Clovis location in 2021 with one treatment room, Maven has expanded to four rooms but continues looking for additional space due to growth demands. Boone remains optimistic about finding the right location: “I’m waiting,” Boone said. “I know God will put the perfect place in my path at the right time.”

She also spoke positively about their current setting: “It’s just a really good feel here,” she said of the Clovis location. She contrasted it with previous workplaces in medical complexes: “I’ve worked at other places and I’ve worked in medical complexes before — you don’t get that.”
