An anonymous donor has contributed $1 million in appreciated stock to Fresno Pacific University. The university stated that the funds will be used for general support, with a focus on upgrading the Special Events Center at the main campus in Fresno. Planned improvements include enhanced lighting and sound systems for chapel services, athletic events, and community gatherings. Some of the funds will also go toward broader infrastructure upgrades.

FPU President André Stephens commented on the donation: “We are deeply grateful for this generous gift and the impact it will have on furthering the goals of Fresno Pacific University. It demonstrates how donors can use their resources to strengthen FPU’s mission and enrich our students’ experiences.”

The university highlighted that gifts of appreciated stocks may allow donors to contribute more than they could with cash, avoid capital gains tax, and receive a charitable deduction based on the stock’s full market value.

This recent donation follows another significant contribution received by Fresno Pacific University about two months ago. In August, the university was given its largest-ever gift—$21.9 million from King J. Richter, a longtime supporter—to fund student scholarships.
