A Fresno-based agricultural technology company, Eco2Mix, has been named one of the Most Fundable Companies in the United States by Pepperdine Graziado Business School. The recognition places Eco2Mix among 14 startups selected from over 2,300 applicants nationwide for their potential to attract investment.

Eco2Mix offers a fully automated system designed to maintain pH control in irrigation water. The system injects carbon dioxide into alkaline water to produce carbonic acid, which buffers pH levels. According to the company, this process increases nutrient uptake in plants, prevents clogging in drip irrigation systems, and supports soil health.

The startup was founded approximately eight years ago and is led by CEO and president Waldo Moraga. Reflecting on the experience of participating in the program, Moraga said: “If we look for investment, or try to validate what we are doing, it’s a complete validation from a respected business university. Plant health and saving agriculture — that’s why I created this company.” He also stated that being chosen out of more than 2,300 companies is an honor and added that the award affirms Eco2Mix’s business model.

Craig Everett, executive director of the Pepperdine Private Capital Market Project and Most Fundable Companies program at Pepperdine University, explained the selection process: “Our proprietary methodology mirrors the diligence process used by angel investors and venture capitalists, giving the winners credibility and visibility with the investment community.”

The Most Fundable Companies program began in 2018. It is open to U.S.-based startups with less than $10 million in annual revenue. Submissions are evaluated based on criteria such as financial projections, market opportunity, intellectual property holdings, competitive advantages, and management team strength. Reviews are conducted by investors, venture advisors, and Pepperdine faculty.

Winners were announced during an event held at Pepperdine University’s Malibu campus.

Other companies recognized include Avol (Brooklyn), Azure Printed Homes (Los Angeles), Butterfli Technologies (Los Angeles), City Twig (Del Mar), Helix Earth Technologies (Houston), Ink’d Greetings (Phoenix), Mela Vitamins (Playa Del Rey), Microvascular Therapeutics (Tucson), PVpallet (Montrose), Scarlet by RedDrop (Compton), Siren Biotechnology (San Francisco), and Somnair (Baltimore).
