Nicole Linder, CEO of the Marjaree Mason Center, has been recognized as a 2024 Top Dog Alumni Award honoree by Fresno State. The Top Dog Alumni Awards are presented to alumni who have made significant contributions to their communities and whose careers have contributed to Fresno State’s reputation for excellence.
Linder received the Distinguished Alumna Award, which is the highest honor given by the Fresno State Alumni Association. She was recognized for her work supporting adults and children affected by domestic violence in Fresno County. The Marjaree Mason Center, led by Linder, is one of California’s largest agencies providing services related to domestic violence, including safe housing, counseling, legal assistance, training, and education.
A native of Fresno and a 1998 graduate from Fresno State with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and journalism, Linder has worked throughout her career to support local organizations such as Valley Children’s Healthcare Foundation and Fresno Pacific University. At the Marjaree Mason Center, she improved service delivery systems and resources for clients, took part in policy advocacy at the state level for survivors of domestic violence, and led a $20 million fundraising campaign for a new Community Resource Center.
Each year at Fresno State, alumni can be nominated for a Top Dog Outstanding Alumni Award. One recipient is chosen from each of the university’s eight academic schools and colleges as well as from the Department of Athletics. This award recognizes alumni who have achieved exceptional success in their fields.
