Local leaders and real estate professionals will gather at Fresno State on Thursday, October 16 to discuss approaches for long-term housing sustainability in the Central Valley. The panel, titled “Central Valley Strategies: Local Pathways to Housing Progress,” is organized by the Center for California Real Estate (CCRE) and the Fresno State Gazarian Real Estate Center.
The discussion will address issues such as new construction, zoning reform, and regional cooperation as ways to meet the region’s growing housing needs. Panelists include Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer, CivicWell CEO Bernadette Austin, and Carol J. Ornelas, President and CEO of Visionary Home Builders of California.
CivicWell is a nonprofit based in Sacramento that collaborates with community leaders on sustainability initiatives. Visionary Home Builders of California operates out of Stockton as a nonprofit housing developer.
Andres Jauregui, director of the Gazarian Real Estate Center at Fresno State, will moderate the event.
The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Alice Peters Auditorium in the University Business Center at Fresno State’s Craig School of Business.
