Students and community members are invited to participate in “Bulldogs in the Grocery Store” tours, which will be held at the Save Mart located at 5750 N. First St. in Fresno. The sessions aim to educate attendees on the value of including fruits and vegetables in their diets.

The tours, led by Fresno State nutrition and dietetic students, will provide information on nutrition and cooking techniques for a variety of produce options, including fresh, dried, canned, frozen, and juice products. Each session lasts one hour and is free to attend.

Participants will also receive tips on budgeting for groceries. There is an opportunity to purchase a student-created cookbook for $5 during the event.

Dr. Lisa Herzig, who directs the Fresno State dietetics and food administration program, oversees the initiative. Funding for the program was provided through a $5,000 grant from the Produce for Better Health Foundation.

Those interested can register online at https://bit.ly/FS25-bulldog-grocery-fall-tours before Tuesday, December 9.

For more information or questions about the tours, contact Kelsie Wasem at bulldogsinthegrocerystore@gmail.com.
