The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Veteran Services Department has opened registration for its 2026 Veteran’s Advocate Training. The event will take place from February 8 to 13, 2026, at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland. Interested members must submit their registration by Monday, December 15, 2025.

This program is designed to train IAM members in U.S. Veterans Affairs benefits through instruction provided by certified professionals. Upon completion of the course, participants will join the IAM-wide Veteran Service Officer (VSO) team. This network supports IAM members who are military veterans by helping them navigate the VA benefits system.

According to the IAM, “Through this course, members acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to assist veterans in navigating the often-complex VA benefits system, ensuring that our brothers and sisters who served receive the support, resources, and respect they deserve.”

The call letter for this training includes details on tuition policies, transportation arrangements, and curriculum information.

Members can register using the Departmental Program Registration Form. For additional questions or information about the program, individuals may contact the IAM Veteran Services Department at 301-967-4500.
