Campus Pointe in Fresno will soon have a new dining option as Ichi Shabu, a Japanese hotpot restaurant, prepares to open its doors on October 28. The restaurant is located next to Maya Cinemas, occupying the space that previously housed Tofas, a Mediterranean grill that closed during the pandemic.
Lin’s Restaurant Group, which operates several restaurants in Fresno such as O-Iza, two Ramen Hayashi locations, Spicy J’s, J-Pot and J-Tea, Hino Oishi, and Lin’s Fusion, announced the opening on Instagram. Jason Lin, CEO of Lin’s Restaurant Group, stated in the post: “We are finally ready to announce our grand opening day. We can’t wait to have you bring all your friends and family. You don’t want to miss it.”
Ichi Shabu has been building anticipation with social media posts over the past month that include renderings of its interior design.
Over the last decade, Lin’s Restaurant Group has expanded significantly since renovating its original location in 2012. The group now operates more than six restaurants in the area offering various dining experiences from upscale sushi and teppanyaki establishments to casual spots like Ramen Hayashi.
The introduction of Ichi Shabu continues the trend of hot pot cuisine gaining popularity locally. The restaurant group already operates J-Pot, which offers a Taiwanese version where each guest receives an individual pot for their meal. Ichi Shabu will focus on Japanese-style hot pot dishes.
