NBA player Jalen Green visited the Boys & Girls Club of West Fresno on Monday, engaging with children and distributing donated items. Green, who grew up in Fresno and attended San Joaquin Memorial, provided 200 backpacks filled with school supplies, hydro flasks, and Adidas shoes to club members. This visit continues a series of charitable acts that began in 2020 when he first contributed shoes, headphones, backpacks, and school supplies to the same organization.
Green has maintained his involvement with the club over the years. In addition to this recent donation, he previously gave out turkeys for Thanksgiving in 2021 and handed out 200 Walmart gift cards during the holidays in 2023.
“Fresno is home, and the Boys & Girls Club is a special place for me,” Green said. “As an Alumni of the Boys & Girls Club, I look forward to continuing to give back and staying involved with my community.”
Jason Hannold, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County, commented on Green’s ongoing support: “It’s an incredible moment when Alumni of Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County give back because it shows the impact the Club has made in their lives and it gives our current members a chance to see what their future could look like,” Hannold said. “Jalen is a big inspiration to all kids, and especially our Club kids from West Fresno.”
Green will begin playing with the Phoenix Suns starting in October.
