The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has announced it will now operate under the name Blood Center United. The organization, which is recognized as the largest global nonprofit focused on blood cancer patients, says the rebrand is part of a broader transformation and renewed commitment to uniting the blood cancer community.

Blood Center United’s new identity will be featured in upcoming fundraising efforts, including this year’s Light The Night event scheduled for November 14 in the Central Valley. The rebranding initiative aims to help people with blood cancer collectively gain more than one million years of life by 2040.

“We’re all about blood cancer, so people with blood cancer can be about everything else,” said Debbie Truhett, Blood Cancer United Central Valley region executive director. “This rebrand evolution helps make our mission, which has not changed, clearer and strengthens how we connect with the people and communities we serve right here in the Central Valley.”

The Light The Night event will be promoted through various channels such as broadcast, digital platforms, social media, and outdoor advertising starting in September at Blood Center United regions nationwide.

Founded in 1949, Blood Center United has invested over $1.8 billion in clinical research and provides free resources, personalized support, and advocacy for patients affected by more than 100 types of blood cancers.
