Sierra Subs and Salads, a sandwich shop in Three Rivers, has been ranked No. 2 on Yelp’s Top 100 Sandwich Shops list. The eatery previously appeared on Yelp’s Top 100 U.S. Restaurants list, securing the No. 8 spot in 2024 and No. 12 in 2025.

Owned by Allison and Dane Millner, Sierra Subs and Salads is known for its scratch-made sandwiches and offers a variety of vegan and gluten-free options. The menu includes custom spreads made in-house and bread sourced from Max’s Artisan Bread in Fresno.

Allison Millner described the recognition as unexpected. “It’s unbelievable,” she said. “We started 16 years ago and it’s more than we could have ever imagined.”

The owners expanded both indoor and outdoor seating five years ago to accommodate more customers. Allison explained their approach to food preparation: “When we started we just vowed to make as much as we possibly could from scratch,” she said. “That was what drove us when we started.”

In 2023, the restaurant faced potential flooding when the Kaweah River rose close to their deck but did not cause any damage.

Three Rivers had a population of just over two thousand people in 2020, making it the second-smallest city featured on Yelp’s Top-100 list after Isleton, California, which is home to The McBoodery at No. 24.
