Snapchat has reported significant growth in its creator ecosystem in India, highlighting increased content engagement and a growing number of Snap Stars, who are the platform’s leading creators. The company attributes this momentum to a rise in new content creation and expanding community participation.
The announcement coincided with Snapchat Creator Connect, an initiative aimed at supporting Gen Z storytellers across multiple cities. Delhi was the latest location for this event, reflecting Snapchat’s focus on North India and its increasing presence throughout the country.
As part of its commitment to the Indian market, Snapchat organized Creator Connect in Delhi on September 26th. The event brought together prominent creators, Snap Stars, and industry representatives. It featured Snap School, an educational program designed to help creators improve their storytelling skills and grow their audiences on the platform. Sessions also covered monetization opportunities through global revenue sharing and rewards programs, as well as augmented reality (AR) innovations that help creators engage more deeply with their communities.
Bollywood and Punjabi cinema actors Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa participated in a fireside chat during the event. They discussed life outside of work, their upcoming film projects, and explained why they prefer using Snapchat to share everyday moments with fans.
Attendees showed strong interest in demonstrations of the fifth-generation Spectacles AR glasses. Features such as real-time Lenses and Spectator Mode were highlighted for their integration with mobile devices.
Snapchat’s approach differs from traditional platforms by focusing on authentic, vertical-first stories and AR-driven creativity. This strategy has resonated particularly well with younger audiences in India, who are engaging with short-form videos and experimenting with features like Lenses during festivals.
The company collaborates with major advertisers across various sectors including fashion, lifestyle, beauty, personal care, quick commerce, and consumer technology. Brands such as Myntra, Flipkart, L’Oreal, Unilever, and Reckitt have worked with Snap Stars and top AR creators to reach Gen Z consumers through influencer marketing partnerships. Snapchat provides brands with consulting services from sales teams and tools like Creator & Content Discovery within Snap Ads Manager to facilitate these collaborations.
Brands can also connect with leading Indian creators through Snapchat’s nationwide agency network. On-ground experiences are offered via initiatives like #SnapStarSquad and partnerships with events such as Myntra FWD Creator Fest and Flipkart Glam Up.
Snapchat has established a broad network of creator agencies not only in Delhi and Mumbai but also in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata.
The platform is increasingly popular among young Indians where sports figures such as cricketers Abhishek Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Rishabh Pant—and Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra—use Snapchat’s storytelling tools to connect authentically with fans while promoting sports culture.
