After nearly four decades of operation, The Vault Fine Jewelers in Fresno’s Fig Garden Village will close its doors on Sunday. The closure follows a retirement and going-out-of-business sale set to begin Thursday, Nov. 13.

Gary and Elaine Yervan, who opened the store in 1987, built their business around diamond and colored gemstone jewelry as well as gold and platinum designer pieces. Reflecting on their decision to close, Elaine Yervan said the couple is looking forward to new pursuits after ending this chapter.

“We are very thankful for the support of our clients and friends throughout the years,” Elaine said. “We love them and wish everyone well, but we must move with the changing of times. And as we age gracefully, we will have our memories, which will last forever.”

The Yervans have been active supporters of local nonprofits during their time in business. Organizations they have contributed to include Catholic Charities, Saint Agnes Medical Center Foundation, the Fresno Rescue Mission, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County. They also participated in both the Fresno County Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Fresno Chamber of Commerce.

“We’ve made and donated countless crosses, diamond tennis necklaces, diamond earrings, pendants and bracelets to local organizations throughout the years,” Gary Yervan said. “We just like to give back to the community for what they have been so kind to give to us; their commitment to patronizing our store. It means more to us than just a way to give back to the community, it comes from the heart.”

The final sale at The Vault Fine Jewelers will feature its entire inventory—including pieces from brands such as Tacori, A. Jaffee, Gabriel & Co., Roberto Coin and Shy Creation—offered at discounts up to 60% off.
