A local radio personality has published a memoir detailing his experiences in the music industry, struggles with addiction, and eventual recovery in California’s Central Valley.
Trevor Carey, host of “The Trevor Carey Show” on PowerTalk 96.7 FM, released “All Over the Place,” an autobiography that traces his path from learning about radio alongside his father to working in hip-hop promotions with artists such as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Common, 3-6 Mafia, and Fat Joe. The book covers Carey’s departure from the industry after a period of self-reflection prompted by his nine-year-old son.
Carey describes how he found stability and community after relocating to the Central Valley nearly ten years ago. “After being all over the place—literally and figuratively—for decades, the Central Valley gave me something I’d never found anywhere else: community, stability, and home,” Carey said. “This book is honest about the mistakes, the addiction, the industry corruption, but ultimately it’s about redemption and how God never leaves us.”
His weekday show reaches listeners across various sectors including business owners and professionals in different industries. As part of his ongoing connection to local supporters—a theme discussed in his memoir—Carey has partnered with A Book Barn in Clovis for promotional activities.
