The U.S. Census Bureau has published new data tables detailing the characteristics of the foreign-born population in the United States, using information from the 2024 Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC).

These tables provide insights into social and economic factors such as employment status, education levels, household income, poverty status, race, age, and sex. The data are categorized by generation: first generation (foreign-born individuals), second generation (those with at least one foreign-born parent), and third-and-higher generation (individuals with two U.S.-born parents).

The Current Population Survey is a long-standing survey recognized for its role in producing monthly labor force statistics and supporting studies that inform the public about various aspects of economic and social well-being.
